SharkBite push-to-connect slip fittings are the fastest way to repair a burst pipe or leak on copper and CPVC pipe. The slip fitting allows up to 2 inches of damaged pipe to be removed and repaired. Simply insert the slip coupling onto the pipe and using the SharkBite demount clip, slip the fitting back onto the other end of the pipe, completing the connection. The slip coupling is a great item to have handy for emergency or freeze repairs. No soldering or glue is required. Changes can easily be made by rotating the fitting after installation. Removing the fitting is just as fast using a disconnect tool so fittings can be easily changed or reused. Designed with stainless steel gripping teeth for a secure connection, a chlorine-resistant O-ring for a long-lasting seal, and backed by a 25-year warranty.

This was the first time I used a Shark bite product. I helped change the faucet on my Daughter tub and had limited space to make the connections for the new faucet. A guy at work suggested using a Shark bite connector. Connector worked perfectly best of all the pipes were copper so there was no soldering. I will use Shark bite products again.

I was doing plumbing work when I was 14 and 15.. now that I’m in my 50’s, I don’t feel like spending time up on ladders, down on knees, bent over, etc. Started using these Shark Bite things a couple years ago when heard good/great things about them. This was first time I did a whole job with them (electric hot water tank switch out). Made for a real pro-look job and buddy I had help me get the old one out of house, and new one in here, was seriously shocked at how fast I was finished and had water back on. He was waiting for the joke; there was none. No digging out torch, soldering flux and acid core solder, no wrap for threads.. measured everything, got what I needed, cleaned and sanded and everything went together in MINUTES without a single leak, still none over a year later; just wish the brand new hot water heater held up as long!

And by Bomb!!! I mean great!! When my minor plumbing project didn’t go as planned, I needed to get my water back on for the night, and this slip coupling allowed me to quickly connect up my pipes. A little expensive, but worth it when you need it!!

Was the worst shark bite product I’ve ever used

While this did actually work it was very difficult to properly install in the wall. If you do end up using this I would recommend getting the more substantial disconnect tool and throwing away the small orange thing that comes with it. Having the better tool made this much easier to use.

In a window of 48 hours, my wife was laid off from work and a copper pipe leading to a bathroom sink and our washing machine sprung a pinhole leak. Not wanting to spend money on a plumber during an unsure time, I turned off the hot water line and we dealt with cold water washing and no hot side in the sink for days. I tried using JB weld (worthless) and then found shark bite on a diy page. It’s easy, effective, and saved me hundreds in a time I couldn’t spend it on a plumber. Thanks shark bite!!!!

Ease of use. Never used before and was impressed how well this product worked.

Unfortunately, I did not use the 3 SharkBite items I bought, but returned them due to the plumber actually sweatting the fittings. I have used these fittings in the past when I had to replace my water heater. I bought a valve and two flexible hose units. I work in a printshop, but due to my construction past, I occasionally help with maintenance at work. We use the fittings there also. You will not be dissappointed.

Allows for two like water lines to be connected with an easier effort because of the length it can span a wider distance.

I had a pin hole in a solid copper line that I was attempting to sauter in place but was running into difficulties. I saw this piece at Lowe’s and decided to try it as an experiment along with saving me some time and a headache. To my amazement it worked very well and still has not leaked to this day.

Made a mistake installing water line in house, this fixed the problem quickly

I watched the video, but the coupling would not slide up for me. I was able to get it together, and it worked good. I had checked the shark bite web site before I did the job, but no help. Eventually I did find one video that showed the user releasing a lock at the top of the coupling, then he could slide the slip on side back up. Also I found one video that showed how to use the special disconnect tool, $8 , to unlock the slip on side, so you could slide it up. I had bought that tool, but had problems finding how to use it. I wish the tool had come with instructions, it would have saved me time.

We are a local contractor in Albuquerque wwwSmartHomesLLC and our handyman services division use these frequently for those hard to get spots where a torch just cannot be used without causing too much damage. They hold tight even under excessive water pressure and last. Worth the extra cost when needed.

Straight forward install and a simple fluxless repair for a pin hole on an early Sunday morning. I keep a few of these on hand to repair pin holes quickly and easily. Can be removed if you wish down the road if you decide to replace the entire length of pipe.

Didn’t slide up as easily as their videos show, but once I figured out how to use the slip tool (not much in the way of instruction was provided) this was locked in in under 45min. (Of which cutting & sanding the pipe took the bulk of)

Got a hole in copper pipe or PVC? Hard to get to areas with solder and no flex in piping? This coupling is the answer. With half inch pipe, cut out a 2 inch section and mark 1 inch to insert pipe into coupling. Might be used instead of a union. A little pricey, but well worth it.
I was NOT paid, nor did I get anything free for this review.

seems to work well but should show how far to slip it on exiring pipe. Thought it would slip on an inch so had to recur existing pipe
