I bought a role of this to insulate the pressure relief tank on my hot water heater. Wrapped everything up and the next day when I put my hand on the insulation I could feel heat coming through and escaping. So much for insulation properties.

This is what you need to insulate an exhaust pipe from your bath fan to avoid the warm and moist air from your shower condensing on the cold exhaust pipe as it exits your attic. Without this insulation, you may find that the condensation is dripping back down into your bathroom. Simply wrap the insulation around the sheet metal exhaust pipe and use metal tape to hold it in place.

The product was very easy to use, did not itch and provided immediate and noticeable level of insulation. The room where the HVAC blower is located use to be extremely hot from the exposed metal vents, after installation the room feels temperate.
Recommend you use scissors to cut the product down as you need it over a box cutter.

Like many others said, nowhere close to 1” thick, barely 1/4” so I don’t understand why the false advertisement continues… it’s not even a misprint where the product is listed, it’s printed right on the package. Also my roll was close to a foot short and was actually two separate pieces foiled together (poorly).
However I could already tell by the pictures this was the case and it worked for my purpose which was to slightly muffle the airflow sound from a basement radon system suction pipe which it did.
2 stars because even though it’s 100% false advertisement it did do what I wanted.

I purchased this because my AC duct insulation needed an upgrade, and the condensation from the duct was leaking through the ceiling. I had never done duct insulation before, and this insulation made it easier. No itchy fiberglass, lightweight, and straightforward installation. It is NOT 1″ thick, but it works well. I’ve had no condensation leaks, and the AC isn’t working as hard.
