The 3 in. steel round gas vent top is a type B round fitting that helps prevent rain and debris from entering the vent. It is not for use with wood-burning applications. It is made of durable galvanized steel and die-formed for uniform sizing and a strong, easy-to-connect joint. This fitting is tested and UL listed for safety in accordance with nape standards.

I like the overall design, but I think a little heavier material should be used to prevent bending or denting

We have this on our water heater vent pipe and anytime we get more than 20 mph winds it blows out our pilot light to our water heater, and I have to get down on the floor to light our pilot light again and again. I am a Disabled Vet and I am tired of doing this all the time so I am looking for something that will not only keep water, debris, but to also keep the wind out!!!

With our house in New England, we have a few vents to help alleviate heat build up during the humid summer months. For the longest time, those vertical pipes weren’t capped off so we would see water in our basement from the Radon system and water damage on the ceiling below. These cap fittings were able to install nicely and snug. Nice design to have a tab to help adjust for a better fit with confidence it’ll withstand high winds. Very pleased.

As others have stated, the description is misleading, this is not for a 6 inch pipe.

The description states “Selkirk 6-in Dia Galvanized Cap Fittings” I went to pick it up and it was a 3″ and they didn’t have a 6″
