SharkBite push-to-connect slip fittings are the fastest way to repair a burst pipe or leak on copper and CPVC pipe. The slip fitting allows up to 2 inches of damaged pipe to be removed and repaired. Simply insert the slip coupling onto the pipe and using the SharkBite demount clip, slip the fitting back onto the other end of the pipe, completing the connection. The slip coupling is a great item to have handy for emergency or freeze repairs. No soldering or glue is required. Changes can easily be made by rotating the fitting after installation. Removing the fitting is just as fast using a disconnect tool so fittings can be easily changed or reused. Designed with stainless steel gripping teeth for a secure connection, a chlorine-resistant O-ring for a long-lasting seal, and backed by a 25-year warranty.

The slip side is a fine idea to allow this fitting to make up for gaps. The problem is it will not stop the pipe before it covers the side-discharge. I used this with CPVC and PEX to install a new water heater and replace some old galvanized pipe. The fit for both is good. No leaks. But I spent two days trying to figure out why I had good water flow on the hot lines, but poor water flow for the cold lines throughout the entire house. I had enough pipe that I didn’t really need the slip-fit, so I pushed the pipe in until it stopped–JUST LIKE ANY OTHER PUSH TO FIT CONNECTOR. The short side worked fine, but the slip side allowed CPVC to continue past the entire side-discharge, obstructing flow to a trickle. I would still recommend this fitting, but with a conspicuous WARNING.

I feel intimidated by plumbing, I’m a carpenter by trade. I usually let the professionals handle large plumbing issues. But, this time there was a major leak in the laundry room & the wife/spousal unit was not waiting for a plumber to arrive so then I was forced to fix in myself & it had to be quick!!! You know how wives hates the laundry to build up! So off I drudged over to to gather all the supplies I needed or thought I needed to fix her woes… I came across these easy to connect worry free fittings & thought what the heck I’ll try this out.. Well, to make this short IT WAS A SUPER BREEZE!!! What could have taken me hours to put together was literally A Snap!!! As easy as the item description states “Push To Connect” & it was DONE!!! No Special Tools or Extra Work!!! Oh, The Wife Was Quite Pleased Also & Laundry Done!!!

Bought the first fitting in an un opened package. Got home that evening I shut my main water line off and cut my 3/4 pex and removed 2″ from the line as the fitting requires. Installed the fitting and one side would not “bite” at all. Inspection revealed it was missing the internal biting ring. It was late at night and luckily I had two T’s and clamps to put my waterline back. I was extremely upset. A simple job turned into a big problem.
Nest day at I spoke with customer service and they gave me 3/4 rings, extra pex piping, and a replacement fitting. Extremely satisfied with .

I’ve always loved the Sharkbite connectors and have never had one leak! This one hasn’t leaked either, but when I was installing it, the Sharkbite didn’t stop the pipe from being pushed too far in. It was strange, but I was able to adjust it so that it is working just fine.

Moved into a home that used to be well water with gas heater. It now is on city water with a gas heater. Everytime i would take a shower i would have a huge pressure spike in water pressure 10-30 mins later. My releief valve was even opening all the time. It could get so strong it broke a faucet! Found out i needed an expansion tank but i cant solder copper. 2 cuts and about 20 minutes of work i now have an expansion tank and no crazy high pressure. Pro tip purchase the orange deburing tool at lowes from sharkbite

To address the reviews saying it went it further that the usual 9/8” this is the whole point of the slip tee design! To allow you to stash a section of pipe within in and withdraw the pipe in a confined space to connect with existing pipe.
