SharkBite PEX-B is a cross-linked polyethylene tubing designed for use in residential and commercial plumbing applications. PEX pipe is flexible and easy to work with, which reduces the number of fittings needed to complete a job; reducing cost and leak points. PEX is also extremely durable and corrosion/freeze resistant. SharkBite PEX is compatible with brass or plastic barb fittings using copper crimp ring or stainless steel clamp connection methods or push-to-connect fittings.

I don’t know how you rate these as it’s a simple pipe. I’m only doing this so the daily review emails stop. I will say though out if 40 sticks they had I bought the straightest one I could find and even it was bent in the middle. I won’t be using my email in a store again. That service is a 1/5 stars.

I did not use this for water but for a marker on edge of my snow blade. When plowing snow I needed something flexible that would not break when snow or tree branches hit it. Pex tubing is cheaper than the fiberglass rods that come with the snow blade and work better than the fiberglass rods.

Easy to cut into custom lengths; I’m using it to support hail netting over my garden beds. Some people use PVC pipe, and that might be better because this is pretty flexible, but overall it works well.

I needed a hot and cold run, each about 26′ feet. Was cheaper to just run it all in blue and get 100′ than to buy to 2 50′ of each color.

added a new mudroom with Laundry, had to supply water lines to this space. House was primarily copper pipe, but someone at told me about the advantages of PEX piping. They were correct, I loved using this stuff and it saves money and time. Plus you no longer need to be afraid of your Soldering (sweating) skills because, guess what, you never have to SWEAT!

The 1/2 ” PEX tube X 50 feet is fine. I ordered on line and it took a long time to arrive. I don’t know why the store doesn’t just let me buy part of a long roll. I can buy wire and chain by the foot, why not PEX tubing. I don’t always need 100 feet. It all gets sold in the end with out the wait. Go get it, get it installed.

What’s not to like about PEX-B Pipe? Excellent choice for replacing old fragile, split or cracked, frozen PVC or PVC water lines. PEX-B is flexible and remains flexible. Though available in white, why not replace lines with BLUE or RED PEX-B Pipe to quickly and easily identify Hot and Cold water lines without having to trace lines back to their source. I used this pipe as a supply line to extend a pre-existing Pex line and it works great – super tough and sturdy. BTW, the color does not matter for the temperature of water (red vs. blue). I bought the blue stuff and it is perfectly suitable for both residential hot and cold lines.

This material, PEX is a superior product weather using Sharkbite or Crimp connections. It must be supported properly and most important is to support it within 8-10 inches from the joint. Critical support should be placed on the pipe that equalizes the pressure on the O ring or crimp. In other words do no let the pipe push down or up on the connection. Zero gravity will ensure a long joint life. The best way to cut this stuff is with a tubing cutter, partially, then slice thru with a razor, not shears. This ensures that the tubing remains a perfect circle. Would you cut copper tubing with shears. The use of shears on this product ensures early joint failure. I’ve used this stuff for 25 years and never had a joint leak!!

PEX is so simple to use that I could walk a first timer through installing a fixture over the phone in 30 seconds. Cut the PEX, sand the edge, push on the fitting to the required depth, and you’re done.

I needed this as a sleeve inside a large sulpted piece to protect it from a threaded rod running though to connect the pieces. There was a blue pipe I could have used with almost identical properties and a buck less but dang it, red is my favorite color. I guess if you have different needs the blue one might be your choice. I like red.

This is a good product, inexpensive, and worked fine. Only negative is that it is very stiff, so if you need a lot of tight bends, its probably not great for that.

I have built and currently live in my tiny house and I used Uponor Pex products for the entire build. I never once experienced any problems or leakage with their products.
When I wanted to add a line for my washer, I saw that sold Pex-A piping and that it was about $15 cheaper than Uponor. I figured that since it met all of the requirements to be called Pex-A that it would be just as good. This was incorrect.
I experienced leaks multiple times with new Sharkbite fittings (brass & plastic). I had to redo multiple sections due to leaks and I do not trust this product at all. I will be swapping this out with Uponor products as soon as they come in this week.
I noticed that this product does not seal properly when using Sharkbite’s Pex-A 1/2″ rings. Literally 50% of the time it would leak and I’d have to start over. I then tried using some of my remaining Uponor rings and found that I no longer experienced any leakage. It also takes about twice as long for the connection to feel tight when installed. I don’t like how easy it is to rotate the fittings when compared to Uponor’s (Very snug). I may have had a bad batch, but in the future I’ll just stick with Uponor.
