Very strong and weather resistant

Very heavy duty. I used a grinder or my chop saw to cut it but I give it 4 stars because it doesn’t fit very snug in the ends and relies on the set screws to keep everything together.

Even going to http://www.steel-tek.com/ doesn’t give the inside diameter of the pipe. It does say it can vary by 12.5% or 1/8th of the measurement. it’d be nice if you’d also sell the 10′ lengths through shipping since it’s not carried at the stores. I don’t see why this would be a problem. Give the load carrying properties. Things like deflections per unsupported foot of each pipe, shear, bracing needs, etc. I’d need to know this to be able design anything other than very simple light duty projects. Also get them to say the casters fit both pipe sizes or develop a caster for the 1 1/4″ pipe too.

heavy duty pipe, well made, has a nice shine to it

Make sure you check the measurements, being that they come from overseas, they don’t use the same measuring system as us. So the lengths differ between each rod. Overall good piece of metal.

As the other reviewer pointed out, specs are woefully lacking. I was short a couple of pieces on a Schedule 40 project and these matched these design – so I just went and checked it.
The inside diameter (ID) is the published 1.25 inches. The outside diameter (OD) is near the standard 1.66 inches. It looks like a scheduled 40 pipe but isn’t marked as such. It has a notation on the label SHC30. Since there is no schedule 30 for steel pipe…who knows what it is exactly.
So in the end, if you are building some basic household projects – these pipes will work well and fit the standard pipe connectors like Kee or SteelTek. If the architect or code says Schedule 40, you may need to keep shopping or call the maker.

Used this for a clothing rack with a 5 foot span. This need a support. 10 foot wood rod was $23 this is 6ft structual steel pipe $12. no support. works wonderfully

I built an 32″ x 80″ desk. The flanges and pipes were easy to work with. I cut the pipes to size using a jigsaw, but a hacksaw would work as well. Once all the screws are tightened properly, this provided a rock solid base for the desk. At first, it may seem like it will not be sturdy, but screws need to be fully tightened at all connections, then it’s extremely sturdy. It supports a 1.5″ top, which at that size weighs a decent amount. [I added reviews to all the pipes and fittings I used.]

Purchased to build seasonal removable handrail. Heavy duty product. A little pricey, but ease of use and quality makes up for the cost. Perfect product for the DIY project.

In using structural pipe, especially for a DIY project, there should be some kind of weight stress limits. On regular pipe you have PSI limits, temperature limits, and others. This pipe is being used for structures such as beds, shelves, furniture, outdoor swing sets, and other critical use with endangerment of people and so should have better specifications listed. It does say not to use it for pipes… not PSI tested? Why and what kind of piping should it not be used for. I have seen 2 inch pipe filled with concrete and used to support a concrete overhang in a public park. What is the limits for each type and size. I am using it for lifting and I would like it for a small trailer with use that is probably fine but Still frustrated without strength specifications I dont know how far apart to space poles for my trailer purpose.

I used it to make a single towel rack the length of the wall. It was an awesome idea and it works great.

It allowed me to get leverage on a stuck lug nut.

The pipe was fine. I had to have it cut down which created a lip on the inside and i could not get the end cap on to complete my project. NO ONE in the store could offer a solution.

I bought this 3/4″ x 3′ galvanized pipe to mount a tv antenna. It was perfect for the job and I expect it to resist rusting with the galvanized coating.

I used a proper inside outside caliper, that limits error. The wall thickness is min 3/32,or just short of 1/8 thick. Probaly 14 gauge, but not exceeding a12 gauge pipe wall. 9/32” estimated was way off, thats over 1/4” thick -no its not that.

I was replacing the blades on my mower and could not get enough torque with my breaker bar. This pipe worked as a fantastic extender to get the job done.

Steel Tek allowed me to build a custom loft cover lifter and loft frame for my wife’s custom built bamboo 10′ x 8′ loft. I built this loft for my wife’s sunbathing and now it’s protected from the rain in the winter.
